Apple CEO Tim Cook earned $145 million in 2016. Cook was ahead of Reed Hastings of Netflix Inc., who earned $106 million last year in take-home pay. For the Top 25 S&P 500 CEOs who served in their positions for the last full fiscal year, take-home pay totaled about $1.65 billion. Take-home pay is the sum of the values of stock vested and options exercised during the fiscal year, along with cash from salaries, bonuses and perks. Companies typically grant equity to executives as incentives each year. – BLOOMBERG

Apple's tweet on Thursday to remind people about the 10th anniversary of the iPhone included a special message. Apple CEO Tim Cook sent out the tweet at exactly 9:41 a.m., which matches up with the time on the image of the original iPhone in Cook's tweet. Apple typically likes to announce its product launches about 40 minutes into the keynote speech. The original iPhone was apparently announced at 9:42 a.m. and the iPad was announced at 9:41 a.m., so Apple has adopted 9:41 a.m. as its official iPhome launch time. – MASHABLE

Apple is donating $1 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made with Apple Pay at any Apple Store, on apple.com or through the Apple Store app in the US. The donations will apply from July 1 through 15. Apple Pay is accepted at Yellowstone and Yosemite national parks, the Grand Canyon and Muir Woods National Monument. “America’s national parks are an inspiration to us at Apple, and we know they are as important to many of our customers as they are to us,” said Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. Additionally, on July 15, Apple Watch users can complete a walk, run, or wheelchair workout of 3.5 miles to earn an award and stickers for messages inspired by national parks. – APPLE INSIDER
