1. Qualcomm disclosed that its legal settlement with Apple amounts to $4.5–$4.7 billion on its earnings call Wednesday. Apple CFO Luca Maestri declined to share this number on Apple's earnings call. Apple withheld Qualcomm’s IP licensing fees for years, claiming its practices were unfair, resulting in lawsuits in both directions. It’s less than the $7 billion Qualcomm wanted, but it’s hard to argue that Apple came out of this one on top. — BLOOMBERG

2. Fitbit’s smartwatch line grew 117% year over year, enabling it to beat Wall Street’s revenue expectations for Q1. Apple still has a significant lead in the smartwatch category, with 35.8% market share. Samsung has 11.1% share, and Fitbit comes in fourth at 5.5%. — TECHCRUNCH

3. Super Micro will stop using made-in-China parts to address espionage concerns. The California company was the center of Bloomberg’s “Big Hack” story in October, which claimed China had compromised servers used by Apple, Amazon and others. 4. OurPact refutes Apple’s reasons for removing it from the App Store. The app was featured in a New York Times exposé suggesting Apple removed family device management apps in favor of its own Screen Time feature. Apple responded that it did so for security reasons. OurPact says Apple’s argument “stands in contradiction to the fact that MDM technology was initially developed by Apple to ensure security of private data on remotely managed devices.” — MEDIUM

5. Apple posted four new videos highlighting accessibility features to its Apple Support YouTube channel. Accessibility features help users with visual, auditory, motor, and other physical challenges use their devices.
