A survey conducted across southeast Asia shows one in three customers would buy an EV. The study conducted by Frost & Sullivan and Nissan surveyed customers in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Philippines. The top concern for customers when buying an EV is safety, followed by charging flexibility and convenience and cost. Customers in the region also say tax credits and other incentives are important in their decision to buy an EV. While adoption of EVs in the region has been slow to progress, 83 percent of respondents knew what an electric car was and one out of three said they would be willing to buy one. — THE DRIVE
