4. U.S. transportation regulators are weighing options when it comes to autonomous vehicle security. According to a 39-page summary of closed-door meetings, regulators grappled with questions on whether police should have the ability to disable self-driving cars and whether user privacy is violated if self-driving vehicles are mandated to send automatic alerts to police when involved in a wreck. Many participants of the meetings were concerned about cyber-security and stressed the need to be prepared in case someone hijacks a self-driving car. The Transportation Department plans to release updated autonomous vehicle guidance later this year. — REUTERS
