1. Uber’s chief people officer Liane Hornsey has resigned from the company. Hornsey faced accusations from anonymous whistleblowers that she allegedly systematically dismissed internal complaints about racial discrimination at the company. Uber confirmed that there was an investigation into her handling of these complaints, prior to her resignation, by a third-party firm. In an internal email sent out by Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, Khosrowshahi did not address this issue and commended her on her tenure at the company. She joined Uber a few weeks before former CEO Travis Kalanick exited the ride-hailing company. Before Uber, Hornsey worked for Softbank and Google. — REUTERS
