1. Tesla is being sued by Nevada for failing to make some payments into the state’s unemployment fund. The state sued the automaker for failing to pay about $655,000 in taxes to the Nevada Unemployment Commission Fund. Tesla reportedly underpaid for both the first and second quarters of 2018, where it paid about $68 million and $55 million in taxable wages to employees. However, Tesla says the underpaid taxes were a result of a clerical error and it processed a payment to the state on October 9 to address the issue. The state’s unemployment fund hit record numbers earlier this year, reaching $1.3 billion. Tesla says it has paid $3.3 million in unemployment taxes to date. — ENGADGET
