Microsoft wants to increase the use of cloud computing in Turkey. Murat Kansu, the head of Microsoft’s Turkish business, said the company is doing its best to make “cloud widespread in Turkey.” Kansu said that for 25 years now the tech company has been trying to raise awareness among Turkish public and private institutions of the benefits of digital technology and software. Kansu said a digital transformation has already started in several sectors in Turkey such as the media, music and travel, adding: “We’re heading in the right direction, but we need to do more.” –HURRIYET DAILY NEWS

Sports fans will see a lot of Google Cloud in the coming weeks. Google recently announced a multiyear sponsorship deal with the NCAA and will run ads throughout the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament. Google Cloud already serves companies such as Apple, Snapchat, Spotify and Coca-Cola, but it's hoping to expand by taking complex topics such as cloud computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence and make them relatable to a wider audience. –AD AGE

Dropbox and Salesforce have entered into a partnership that will mix their services together. The agreement will involve service integration as well as shared marketing efforts, and a joint commitment to broaden the adoption of each other’s platforms. Salesforce's Commerce Cloud and Marketing Cloud customers will receive access to the Dropbox platform, allowing them to create customized and branded folders. Users of Salesforce Quip will also get access to Dropbox stored content, such as videos, slides and photos, through the cloud service. This will also see Dropbox add in support for Quip documents. –IT NEWS

Nutanix has acquired Netsil, a San Francisco-based company that makes application discovery and operations management software. Nutanix, a provider of hyperconverged infrastructure, plans to use Netsil’s technology to bolster its enterprise cloud platform with more tools to secure, identify and fix performance issues in containerized apps. This is the second acquisition Nutanix has recently made. Earlier this month, Nutanix announced its acquisition of Minjar, makers of Botmetric, a cloud management service for cost analysis, security and automation. -ZDNET

McAfee said it will extend its cloud security platform to consistently protect Microsoft Azure. That includes McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud, McAfee Virtual Network Security Platform (vNSP) and McAfee Cloud Workload Security (McAfee CWS). McAfee vNSP’s support of Azure customers will be available by the end of this month, according to the company. The announcement marks the first joint security solution from McAfee and Skyhigh Networks since McAfee purchased the company last November. –RCR WIRELESS
