6. 📽️ The live-action version of “Aladdin” hits theaters on Friday and early reviews have been largely positive, according to Rotten Tomatoes. CNET liked the movie, saying it updates the classic Disney film opposed to a strict copy and paste. In particular, the story gives a bigger role to Princess Jasmine as she struggles in Agrabah’s male-dominated hierarchy. Of course, viewers will largely go for Will Smith’s portrayal of the genie. “Smith is at his best when he puts his own energetic magic in Genie's corner, but he doesn't exude the same warmth as [Robin] Williams did,” CNET writes. –CNET
