Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden plans to outspend President Trump in television and digital advertising with $280m that will target swing states. $220m will be dedicated to TV, and $60m will go towards digital ads.
- The states that Biden is targeting include Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, all states that Trump won in 2016. Trump reportedly has reserved $145m for TV ads between now and November.
- The Trump campaign says it has knocked on over one million doors, while Biden's campaign has foregone any door-to-door discussions about his campaign.
- Democratic party leaders announced Biden will not travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the Democratic National Convention to officially accept the nomination due to COVID-19 concerns. The entire event, scheduled for August 17-24, is now expected to be virtual.
