New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on Twitter that she is filing a suit to dissolve the National Rifle Association for self-dealing and illegal conduct. An investigation into the NRA began last year.

• The NY AG claims that the NRA diverted millions of dollars from its charitable causes to senior leadership and executives, and for the purposes of tax fraud. She claims the money was used for private jets, expensive meals, and trips to the Bahamas, among other places.
• James says that the backroom dealings and diverting of funds had lost the organization itself over $63m. 
• The NRA responded on Twitter, calling the move a baseless, premeditated attack and an attempt to score political points. The group said it would fight the lawsuit. 

Capital One has been fined $80m by banking regulators for a 2019 hack that occurred due to poor security. The data breach affected more than 100 million U.S. customers' accounts and applicants and 6 million customers in Canada.

• The hacker was a former employee of Amazon Web Services and compromised 140,000 social security numbers and 80,000 bank account numbers. Capital One is the fifth largest credit card provider in the U.S. 
• The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) said the bank failed to establish an effective risk assessment process that led to the breach.
• The OCC and the Federal Reserve are requiring Capital One to make significant risk-management and cyber-security changes.

Intel is investigating a security breach after over 20GB of Intel's confidential internal documents were leaked on the internet today by a Swiss software engineer who claimed to have received it anonymously from a hacker.

• The leaks were posted on Twitter and led to a post on MEGA that contain documents titled "confidential" and "restricted secret." The hacker claims there are more files coming. 
• The leaker claims he obtained the documents through a breach earlier this year and mentions that there are backdoors in the source code. The leaker dubbed the release the "Intel exconfidential Lake Platform Release."
• The leaked files seem to contain Intel intellectual property related to the internal design of various chipsets. The files contained product guides, technical specifications, and manuals for CPUs dating back to 2016.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. reached 4,864,151 and the number of deaths reached 159,600. Yesterday, the U.S. registered at least 1,253 new deaths and 56,979 cases, according to the NYT.

• Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has tested positive for COVID-19. He is the second governor to test positive after Oklahoma’s Kevin Stitt. The 73-year-old DeWine says he is currently asymptomatic.
• The U.S. State Department said that Russia is trying to spread misinformation regarding COVID-19 through social media and proxy websites.
• Attorneys general of 31 states have signed a letter asking HHS to decrease the price and increase the supply of drugs related to COVID-19 by invoking a federal patent law.
• The U.S. State Department has lifted a Level 4 global health advisory which advised U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel. It also added that the department is returning to country-specific travel advice.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos sold ~$3.1b worth of shares in the company (one million shares) in the last week. According to SEC filings, the sales were pre-planned as part of a 10b5-1 trading plan. It brings Bezos' 2020 total to $7.2b in Amazon stock sales this year. Last year, he sold $2.8b worth of shares.

• Earlier this year, Bezos sold $4.1b worth of Amazon shares over an 11-day period. 
• Bezos still owns ~54 million shares of Amazon, more than 10% of all shares, with a combined value of more than $170b.
• In 2017, Bezos said he would sell 1 million shares (about $1b at the time) in Amazon stock every year to fund his rocket company Blue Origin. 
• Bezos invested $250,000 in Google in 1998. Google went public in 2004, netting Bezos 3.3 million shares of Google stock. Today, that would be worth ~$4.9b, though it's unclear if Bezos still owns any Google stock.
• Amazon stock is up 73% since the start of the year, including 2.1% yesterday.
