Inside Deals (Dec 3rd, 2018)

Hey readers!

We're launching a few next sections over the next few weeks we need your help with. Please email us your suggestion at deals@inside.com:

  • "Lasts Forever": A re-haul of the former "product recommendation section", this new feature will highlight products that are amazing investments because they can last years. While I will be featuring my own personal recommendations, I want to hear from readers directly and feature your recommendations as well! Today's issue will feature our "first" "Lasts Forever" product.
  • "Consensus Favorite":  Every week, I want to start featuring products that you absolutely love or want, from brands and sources that you trust. Email us at deals@inside.com with these products, source, and/or brand recommendations and I can feature them here. I'll find out where and when you can get the best discounts on them. I'll also be featuring the highest quality products according to the experts here as well. Even if a product is not usually ever on sale, if they're so durable or powerful enough to make a great investment, I can feature these here as deals as well.
  • "Life Hacks To Save Money": Self-explanatory. Email your suggestions to deals@inside.com!
  • "Cheap Tricks": I actually launched this feature a while back so many of you already have read this section before. Here I'll feature suggestions and tips on how to save money, not by spending, but by being frugal. Send us your recommendations and I can feature you here!

I'm also really interested in hearing about products or services you've been really wanting to see a deal on, but you haven't been able to find here or elsewhere. Let me know what these are and I can look for them on your behalf.

We want to make this newsletter as helpful as possible for you to make sure you save the most money, so please shoot us an email at deals@inside.com!

Stanley Thermoses "Last Forever" And Can Help Save You Thousands:

1. A lot of brands sell thermoses that promise to preserve a drink's temperature, but most in my experience often fall short, particularly the cheaper ones. While Stanley Thermoses haven't always kept my coffees piping hot, they've managed to keep it sufficiently warm for years. In fact, they can last so long, this Reddit user says they've been using their's every day for 38 years now.

That durability, in my opinion, makes this a worthy investment. Many use thermoses as a way to save money on coffee and drink expenses; it's an easy life hack helping you save up to $1,000 every year, after all. Yet if they don't preserve hot or cold temperatures well for very long, you're going to fall back on old and expensive habits. I've succumbed to the temptation of buying coffees from cafes more than once after a cheap thermos made for lackluster coffee. Stanley Thermoses live up to expectations, however. While I still probably spend more than I should on Starbucks monthly (thanks, caffeine addiction!), I'm sure I've still saved at least hundreds in the past few years. Given how long these thermoses can last, I'm sure I'll be saving thousands more.

2. Fly roundtrip from San Francisco or Los Angeles to London, England for $406-$478 through Lufthansa Airlines. Dates generally range between January 2019 - May 2019, although you can score the cheapest tickets in February. Flights out to London from California during other times of the year are usually a little over $800 roundtrip, so you're saving up to 50% off. Being half-British, I fly out to London from California often; the cheapest deal I've ever scored was a $600 roundtrip flight in February. What's more, this is also about the same price East Coasters pay to fly across the pond, making this an even rarer discount.

  • Product: Roundtrip flight from Los Angeles or San Francisco to London, England
  • Dates: Generally January 2019 - May 2019
  • Deal: Up to 50% off
  • How to buy: I found this deal using Fare Compare, so play around with dates and departing cities there.

3. Save $50 on a one-year X-Box Game Pass. A 12-month membership usually costs about $120, or $10 every month. For a limited time, however, you can purchase a subscription for $70 at Best Buy or Amazon, giving you unlimited access to the newest video games and more for roughly $6/month. While it's not clear when this deal will expire, this was a Black Friday discount so it's likely it won't be around for much longer.

4. You can save hundreds on a bunch of refurbished Apple products ranging from MacBooks and iPads to iPhones. Apple is selling a range of models of varying qualities for sale through Mashable's online shop, like this 2015 $1,512 MacBook Pro that you can get for $1,200. These products are all Apple certified refurbished items,  which means you can generally trust they will be in good condition. This sale is perfect for those who need a discounted Apple product and don't care too much about having the latest and greatest, but are wary of buying a used product or a refurbished item from a third-party seller.

  • Product: Refurbished Apple items
  • Deal: Up to 40% off
  • How to buy: Purchase from Mashable
