1. The React-Redux team has added hooks to React-Redux v7.1. "After much discussion, we've decided these Hook things are probably going to stick around, so we might as well add some," writes React-Redux' Tim Dorr. 2. Javalin 3.0 is now available. The latest version of this web framework for Kotlin and Java offers support for WebSockets, HTTP2 and async requests. It also comes with revamped validation for parameters, standalone mode and event setup as well as added OpenAPI (Swagger) support. Click here for more details about improvements. - JAVALIN

3. Npm's ex-CTO, CJ Silverio, has introduced Entropic, a decentralized, federated package registry. "[Federation] hands control of your slice of our language ecosystem to you," said Silverio while criticizing the centralized npm. "My hope is that by giving Entropic away, I’ll help us take our language commons back." Silverio worked with former colleague Chris Dickinson and others to create the npm alternative in cooperation with the OpenJS Foundation. It comes with its own CLI, file-centric publication API, and a content-addressable storage system, but is not yet available for use. - THE REGISTER

4. Go 1.12.6 and Go 1.11.11 is now available. These are minor point releases that come with fixes to the compiler, the linker, the go command, and the crypto/x509, net/http, and os packages. Check out the release notes for Go 1.12 and Go 1.11 for further information. - GO GOOGLE GROUPS
