1. The W3C announced the WebAssembly Core Specification is now an official standard. The WebAssembly Working Group published three WebAssembly specifications as W3C Recommendations on Thursday. These include the WebAssembly Core Specification, the WebAssembly Web API, and the WebAssembly JavaScript Interface. The WebAssembly Web API defines a Promise-based interface for calling and executing a .wasm resource, while the WebAssembly JavaScript Interface offers a JavaScript API developers can use to request and passing parameters to WebAssembly functions. - W3C

2. Visual Studio 2019 16.4 is now available. In this latest version,  developers can now publish to GitHub directly from Team Explorer. This release also introduces the XAML Hot Reload for Xamarin.Forms, which makes development faster as it lets you make changes to your XAML UI and see them reflected live without another build and deploy. Other new features include the Container Tools window, XAML tooling improvements for WPF and UWP desktop developers, a pinnable properties tool, and more. - MICROSOFT

3. Follow Friday: This week, I'd like to introduce you to Twitter user Colin Jones. Colin, a CTO at 8th Light and the author of the book, "Mastering Clojure Macros", uses social media to educate and be educated. While he tweets tips about Rails, Elixir, Clojure, and more, he also shares his own insights as he grows as a developer, despite being experienced. Colin's tweets are also funny; he often shares amusing, adorable stories about his young children, while tweeting lighthearted posts about web development. You can follow him on Twitter at @trptcolin.

4. JetBrains has announced the launch of a new developer collaboration tool called Space. “Most digital collaboration environments are in fact a mixed bag of solutions tackling different problems, from development tools to task management ones. This leaves people switching tools and tabs, manually copying information, and generally losing time and creative flow,” JetBrains CEO Maxim Shafirov said. In contrast, the new Space tool, used internally by the company for the two years, saves time and improves productivity by allowing teams to integrate DevOps, communication, and project management tools into one solution. It offers functionality like code reviews, version control, internal blogs, and more, and will feature automation CI/CD pipelines and personal to-do lists in the future. The tool is currently available as an early-access program with a freemium starting tier. - JETBRAINS

5. Jetbrains also gave developers a glimpse of what it has in store for Kotlin 1.4 during KotlinConf. The new release should be available sometime in spring 2020, and while it won't contain any large language, it will come with some new features. These include support for SAM conversions, the stabilization of the typeof function, multiplatform support, trailing commas, fixed mixed naming and positional arguments, and an improved lazy property. - JAXENTER
