Bootstrap 4.5.1 is now available, and the Bootstrap team also revealed the delayed second alpha of v5 should be released in the next few weeks. Bootstrap 4.5.1 fixes a number of Bootstrap 4 JavaScript, CSS, and build bugs, while also featuring updates to the documentation. Some highlights include:

• The addition of role="dialog" in modals via JavaScript
• Updated Babel config
• Updated docs callout for responsive SVG images
• The addition of z-index to .custom-check to fix their rendering in CSS columns

Facebook's engineering team open-sourced a Python-based command-line interface tool you can use to debug Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) issues called Pcicrawler. In addition to using the tool to debug PCI issues at scale, the team says it also uses it to assist with automation.

Microsoft launched Open Service Mesh (OSM), a lightweight, extensible, cloud-native service mesh running on Kubernetes based on the Envoy proxy server. The new service is designed to make it easier to manage microservices and help network traffic flow well between them.

• Gabe Monroy, a director of product management at Microsoft Azure, said Open Service Mesh was designed to be a lighter-weight and easier to use version of rival Google's Istio.

Mozilla fixed security flaws in Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird. An attacker could exploit some of these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system.

Adobe patched vulnerabilities in Magento Commerce 2 and Magento Open Source 2. An attacker could exploit some of these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system.

Cisco patched a number of critical and high-severity vulnerabilities in its Small Business RV Series Routers, Data Center Network Manager, and SD-WAN vManager. Some of the bugs could enable attackers to access information, make changes to an affected system, and execute commands with privileges of the root user.
