Facebook's engineering team announced Pysa, a Python Static Analyzer tool now available open source you can use to find and prevent security issues in your code.
More:
- Facebook uses Pysa to detect a variety of problems, including common web app security issues, like XSS and SQL injection. "Pysa has helped us scale our application security efforts for Python, most notably the codebase that powers Instagram’s servers," says the team.
- Facebook also recently open-sourced a Python-based command-line interface tool you can use to debug Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) issues called Pcicrawler.

The first beta release of the Rome linter for JavaScript and TypeScript is now available. With this release, the Rome team says it aims to combine the frontend development toolchain into one by acting as a compiler, bundler, test runner, and more for JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, JSON, Markdown, and CSS
More:
- According to the Rome team, Rome is a monolithic tool that is essentially a toolchain aiming to replace Babel, ESLint, Webpack, Prettier, Jest, and others.
- The tool was built from scratch, and is not made up of existing tools.

Google will be shutting down its classic Sites website builder on Sept. 1, 2021. The tech giant will disable the option to create new sites with the builder starting Nov. 1, 2020, giving users close to one year to migrate their classic sites to the new Google Sites.
More:
- Google created a new service called Classic Sites Manager to make it easier to convert one's classic Site to new Sites.
- Users can also Classic Sites Manager to archive and delete class Sites, in addition to being able to export a spreadsheet of their sites to Google Sheets.
- G Suite admins have a slightly longer transition period. The option to build classic sites will be disabled in May 2021, while they will not be able to edit their sites in October, with the service fully shut down for them in Dec. 2021.
- Google launched Google Sites in 2006 after buying JotSpot, later introducing the new Google Sites service that became part of G Suite in 2014.
