Supabase, an open-source backend-as-a-service, announced a $30M Series A funding round. The round was led by Coatue and saw participation from Github co-founder Tom Preston-Werner, Pagerduty co-founder Alex Solomon and Docker co-founder Solomon Hykes.
- Dubbed as an alternative to Google's firebase, Supabase lets developers create a backend in less than 2 minutes by offering a collection of tools like Postgres Database, user authentication system, storage system, and UI to build, oversee and maintain projects.
- The completely remote startup had raised a $6M seed round in Dec. 2020.
- Supabase has two pricing plans: a limited access free plan and a Pro plan at $25 per project per month.
