Watch Intel's spectacular drone show at CES 2018 [VIDEO]
250 drones lit up the skies at the Bellagio hotel this week.
The stunning display took place at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas.
The quadcopters, known as Shooting Star drones, are created by Intel for entertainment shows (They are the same drones used during last year's Super Bowl half-time show with Lady Gaga).
Each drone weighs just over 10 ounces, about the weight of a volleyball. According to Intel, each has a soft frame and a covered cage to protect its propellers.
Intel animators coordinate the fleet's movements in advance using special animation software, and a single pilot is able to control the entire performance.
The video also featured Natalie Cheung, manager of Intel's drone light shows, who spoke about what goes into the performance.
"We have two geofences," she said. "We have visual observers everywhere just to make sure if there's an external aircraft, we can call down our fleet and make sure that everyone is safe."
