Crash testing the DJI Mavic Air [VIDEO]

DJI officially released its latest drone - the $799 Mavic Air - late last month. As to be expected, hundreds of videos have popped up on the internet testing or reviewing the device.

Drone reviewer WeTalkUAV tested the Air's performance under a variety of conditions - including crash testing it into a tree.

The viral video had more than 174,000 views and 400 comments on YouTube, as of Thursday.

Throughout the testing, the portable foldable drone held up surprisingly well, even when water was poured over it.

The reviewer tested a soft surface collision first. The drone held up, but the hard surface test wasn't as successful.

The drone sputtered on the ground, but was still able to fly afterward.

The conclusion? The drone still functioned well, even after all the damage.

"Painful to see but happy with the results," one YouTube user wrote.

"Very good test - both useful and entertaining! Smart," said another.
