Last month, Intel bested its own previous world record for number of drones flown simultaneously, when it flew 1,500 drones Shooting Star drones above the skies in Folsom, California.

Several thousand people watched the light show, which resembled Fourth of July fireworks (and happened to take place right after Independence Day).

The drones formed a variety of shapes, ranging from dancing bodies to a rotating globe, outside of Intel's campus in Folsom.

The event was put on for Intel's 50th anniversary.

The question remains, how big can Intel's drone shows get in the future? We can only guess.
