Inside Drones (Oct 10th, 2018)

1. FBI director Christopher Wray said that the threat on U.S. soil from drone attacks “is steadily escalating." Wray told the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee that it's likely unmanned aircraft would be "used to facilitate an attack in the United States against a vulnerable target, such as a mass gathering." Wray blamed drones' retail availably, ease of use, and lack of ID requirement. His remarks come after President Trump just signed into law a bill that allows the federal government to disable or shoot down drones that threaten public facilities. - NBC NEWS

2. HBO used anti-drone guns to prevent UAVs from filming its sets and revealing spoilers, actress Sophie Turner said. Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the HBO drama, told EW at New York Comic Con that "if a drone flies above sets, there’s a thing that can kill the drones, which is really cool." She added that it "creates a field around it and the drones just drop. It’s very X-Men." The "drone killers" are sometimes used by police departments to bring down drones that interfere with emergency operations. - TIME
