1. One of the busiest airports in the UK restarted operations on Friday morning after closing down for about 36 hours because drones were seen flying near the runaway. Hundreds of flights were canceled at Gatwick Airport, leaving approximately 120,000 people stranded and disrupting air traffic across Europe. Police have, so far, failed to find the "industrial specification" drones, or the person who operated them. Officials said the drones had been "adapted and developed" to cause disruption. – BBC

4. A photographer used a drone to capture images of one of South America's few remaining glaciers. Reuben Wu deployed a DJI Phantom drone equipped with a blue LED light, which helped him illuminate the face of the 16,000-foot-high Pastoruri glacier in the Cordillera Blanca region of the Andes. "With a lot of landscape photography, it's pretty overwhelming when everything is illuminated," he said. "I see this as a way of isolating elements by borrowing techniques from painters." - WIRED
