1. YouTube's recent policy change that bans white nationalist content has had mixed results so far. Six days after the policy went into effect, a CNN review of YouTube found prominent white supremacist groups such as the National Policy Institute with intact videos and channels. YouTube said it would take several months to expand and enforce the new rule. Meanwhile, the Netherlands' Regional Archive Alkmaar had all its historical WWII videos removed from YouTube for "hate-mongering." -- CNN

2. Chromium-based browsers will not follow Google's lead on ad blocking. Google's proposed changes to Chromium caused a lot of controversy at the beginning of the year as they would lead to ad-blocking extensions being useless on the browser. Google relented a little on this policy earlier this month , but only to the extent that enterprise deployments of Chrome will still be able to block ads. Other browsers based on the open-source Chromium — like Opera, Vivaldi and Brave — will not support Chromium's anti-ad-blocking stance. -- ZDNET

3. Google Lens has its first integration with a museum. When visitors to the de Young museum in San Francisco point their Google Lens compatible phones at a Lens-enhanced artwork, they will get the name of the painting and the artist, as well as additional information from the internet. Lens will also be used to surface videos and other artist-related content. It's hoped that providing art information this way could supplant the need for standalone museum audio tour devices. --  9TO5 GOOGLE

4. New phones always mean new rumors, and the Pixel 4 is no exception. Ahead of the expected October release, The Verge took a look at three rumors floating around, including Pricebaba's case design, Unbox Therapy's case mockup for manufacturers and a report that the new Pixel will have a technology that tracks hand motions in 3D space. Rumors are just that, of course — unconfirmed reports which may or may not be correct. But the popularity of some of these outlets could get a response from Google; Unbox Therapy's YouTube channel, for example, has 14 million subscribers. -- THE VERGE
