- The UFC created the “baddest motherf---r” title in 2019, upon Diaz’s mentioning. It was put up for grabs at UFC 244 in November in New York City, with Masvidal and Diaz headlining the event.
- Masvidal won via a controversial third-round doctor stoppage. The 35-year-old Diaz hinted at retirement shortly after his loss but immediately shut it down a day later.
- Diaz hasn’t fought since. The 35-year-old Masvidal, meanwhile, last competed at UFC 252 in July in a welterweight title fight against champion Kamaru Usman. He lost via unanimous decision.
