Frankie Edgar is calling for a “legacy fight” against fellow ex-UFC champion Dominick Cruz. The 38-year-old Edgar came to the decision after a successful bantamweight debut against Pedro Munhoz on Aug. 22.
- Edgar, a former lightweight titleholder, already fought in three different weight classes in the UFC. He holds notable victories over future legend B.J. Penn and Hall-of-Famer Urijah Faber, among many others.
- The 34-year-old Cruz is the first UFC bantamweight champion and had two stints at the top of the division. He holds wins over Faber and former champions, T.J. Dillashaw and Demetrious Johnson.
- Cruz, however, is injury prone and only fought four times over the last four years. Three of those fights happened in 2016. He last saw action at UFC 249 in May, where Henry Cejudo defeated him via second-round TKO.
