Colby Covington calls the Black Lives Matter movement a “complete sham.” The controversial UFC welterweight made the said statements after defeating former 170-pound champion Tyron Woodley via fifth-round TKO on Saturday.
- As explained by Covington, the movement is about standing behind “complete terrorists” and “criminals.” He condemned them for allegedly attacking police officers while calling Woodley a “communist” who “hates America” for showing support.
- Covington later had a heated conversation with current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, where he also made racist comments. Usman, who is of Nigerian descent, simply laughed it off.
- Covington, a proud supporter of US President Donald Trump, later received a phone call from the man himself. President Trump called in to congratulate “Chaos” for making “easy work” of Woodley during the fight.
