Reebok, the UFC's official sponsor, denounced Colby Covington’s disparagement of the Black Lives Matter movement.
- After his win over Tyron Woodley on Saturday, Covington described BLM as a “complete sham.” He also called Woodley a “terrorist” and “Marxist” who “hates America” for showing support.
- In response, a Reebok representative stated they “do not agree” with Covington’s statements, as they “stand firm” in their belief that black lives matter.
- DoorDash, another company that sponsors the UFC, also released a statement to express its stance against “injustice, inequality, and discrimination.”
- Covington’s remarks on Saturday night also targeted UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, who broke his jaw when they fought in December at UFC 245.
