Tyron Woodley was slapped with a six-month medical suspension for a rib injury he sustained against Colby Covington on Saturday. The said injury led to a fifth-round TKO loss, Woodley’s first stoppage defeat in eight years.
- Right after the fight, Woodley was stretchered out of the UFC APEX facility. His x-ray showed what looks like a broken rib, which Woodley described as “the most pain ever.”
- Woodley is barred from fighting until March 19, 2021. He isn’t allowed to have sparring sessions in the gym until Oct. 20.
- The loss to Covington is the third straight for the 38-year-old Woodley, the first time in his 11-year professional career. UFC president Dana White is now advising him to consider retirement.
