Retired MMA star Conor McGregor and UFC president Dana White are bickering about leaked direct messages. McGregor recently posted screenshots of his private conversation with White in February, when he tried to make a deal to fight UFC veteran Diego Sanchez.
- The first series of direct messages showed McGregor requesting to be part of a UFC event in Los Angeles. After White said there wasn’t anything planned for LA, “The Notorious” asked to fight Sanchez in his hometown of Dublin in Ireland.
- In the next series, McGregor asked to fight the current interim lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje. White had it tentatively penciled in for July, but for McGregor, it was “too far” out.
- McGregor posted the DMs to shed light on his retirement statement in June. At the time, he claimed that the UFC was trying to “show power” over him by offering “stupid fights.”
- On Saturday, White called McGregor out for leaking the DMs and breaking the “man code,” saying it was “one of the dirtiest things you can do.” McGregor fired back, saying “stop lying,” referring to White’s previous accusations about him turning down fights.
