According to lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, UFC President Dana White has “something special” planned for him if he comes out victorious against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 on Oct. 24. He didn’t delve into any specifics.
- Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz also bared some details but only stated that the said plans don’t involve MMA superstars Conor McGregor and Georges St-Pierre.
- McGregor and St-Pierre are the two of the best opponent options for Nurmagomedov if he beats Gaethje. A rematch with McGregor is expected to be lucrative, given the bad blood they have from the first fight in 2018.
- St-Pierre, meanwhile, is considered one of the sport’s all-time greats, and a legitimate threat to the undefeated Khabib.
