After seven years with the UFC, James Vick was released from the active roster. With a total of 14 fights with the company, upper management chose not to renew his contract.
- The 33-year-old Vick entered the UFC in 2013 through the Ultimate Fighter reality show/tournament. He put up an impressive 9-1 run over the next five years until he ran into current title challenger Justin Gaethje in 2018.
- After the first-round KO loss to Gaethje, Vick went on to lose his next three fights. He last saw action in October 2019 against Niko Price and lost via first-round KO. It was also the final fight on his UFC contract.
- Vick is currently in talks with other promotions. He holds a professional record of 13-5.
