75% of development shops will embrace low-code platforms in 2021, thus firmly embedding low-code into the mainstream, according to Forrester's 2021 predictions for software development. The increase in low-code adoption is partly the result of the pandemic creating new demands and working conditions; those businesses embracing low-code, collaboration work management, and automation reacted "faster and more effectively than firms relying only on traditional development," Forrester states.

Specific factors that are driving the increase in low-code adoption according to Forrester include:

• Big service providers guiding enterprises towards low-code platforms
• Enterprises using the platform to deliver mission-critical apps
• More success stories about large citizen developer programs in enterprises surfacing.

Other notable insights from the Forrester report:

• Modernization efforts will be crucial for companies to stay competitive, according to Forrester. Companies that do not prioritize modernization "will be at a competitive disadvantage, both to the firms that have already modernized or to technical-debt-free startups."
• As we continue to work remotely into 2021, Forrester recommends development teams embrace collaborative work management (CWM) practices, virtual war rooms, and metrics that foster shared purpose to succeed.
• Teams with existing investment in cloud platforms, agile practices, and high-trust culture more easily adjusted to 100% remote work.

Adalo plans on working on several new features to improve performance. The news comes after the platform experienced server problems last weekend temporarily impacting Adalo users' ability to preview changes made to their apps. 

As a result, Adalo will be working on the following projects to increase performance so such issues do not happen again:

1. Four new projects that will improve the performance of Adalo apps in countries outside of the U.S. and make loading lists, images, and components in general in Adalo users' apps faster. 
2. The team is creating a platform status page for Adalo it will release shortly.
3. Improving the stability of Adalo's servers so the platform is better able to handle your Adalo apps no matter how large. Adalo is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to carry this task out. Check out the job listing here.
