Conde Nast is introducing the “Women Who Travel” podcast to discuss traveling as it pertains to females. Over the course of eight episodes, the show will address topics, such as where it is safe for women to travel, female leaders in the travel industry, and all of the reasons women “refuse to stay home.” A portion of each weekly episode will also be dedicated to answering travel-related questions from listeners. “Traveler” editor Erin Florio, blogger Jessica Nabongo and “Traveler” contributor Cynthia Drescher all kick off the show’s first episode. - CNTRAVELER

More than one-third of LinkedIn users listen to podcasts, according to a new study. The research, conducted by LinkedIn, also found that respondents between the ages of 18 and 34 are most likely to listen to podcasts, with 42 percent stating that they do so regularly. Only one-eighth of LinkedIn members ages 65 and older were unaware of what podcasts are, demonstrating the prominence of the industry. – MCHARTS

Reddit and NPR affiliate WBUR are teaming up to host a new podcast called “Endless Stream.” The goal of the podcast is to spread the word about Reddit stories that are going viral on the website. The show will officially launch on January 12, with weekly releases planned for Fridays. “Reddit is home to the most engaging and authentic content on the Internet; and similarly, we felt it was important to partner with best-in-class storytellers to do that content justice,” said Reddit’s creative development manager Michael Pope. – VAR

Will Davis, a producer at NPR affiliate WUTC-FM, is taking his skills to the classroom. Davis will be teaching a course entirely dedicated to podcasting at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Based on their personal interests and goals, students will be matched with nonprofits, and then tell the stories of their organization through podcasting. “The best way to show the value of a group is to tell the stories of its people,” says Davis. “I want the students’ expectations to be both met and challenged by their experiences out in the field.” – CHATTANOGAN

Microsoft has launched a new show called “Microsoft Research” to shed light on the inner workings of the company. Host Gretchen Huizinga describes it as “a show that brings you closer to the cutting edge of technology research, and the scientists behind it.” New weekly episodes are scheduled to be released every Monday. Microsoft Research is comprised of more than 1,000 computer scientists, engineers and mathematicians from around the globe. – DIGITALTRENDS
