Keeping with the trend of acquiring tools that provide both publishing power and analytics, iHeartMedia acquired Voxnest in October in a bid to provide greater inventory at scale to podcast advertisers. Voxnest also offers DAI with enhanced content targeting, which iHeart believes will help further monetize podcasts under its banner.
As of November, iHeartRadio remains the top podcast publisher in the U.S. according to Podtrac, with a unique monthly audience of more than 27 million across its network. NPR is not too far behind, with just under 26 million. Rounding out the top 5 are The New York Times, Wondery, and ESPN/ABC. (More on Wondery below.)
