It's clear that Spotify is not backing down and wants to dominate podcast ownership and distribution. We'll, of course, continue to be able to listen to podcasts through a number of platforms, though the shrinking slate of independent producers and distributors likely means a bidding war for the top content and a struggle for smaller podcasts looking to be discovered, much like what's happened in the music industry.
