Hey Insiders,
I hope everyone is staying as safe and sane, as can be. In light of the recent cold wave that has hit North America, along with the news, I am sharing some podcasts to help keep you warm, laughing, or at the very least, distracted.
Be well,

WHOLESOME GOODNESS

- On "The Anthropocene Reviewed," author John Green reviews "different facets of the human-centered planet on a five-star scale." These facets range from "air conditioning and sycamore trees" to our "capacity for wonder and sunsets." While the show ended last year, there are two years' worth of episodes to dig into.
- "Wonderful!" is hosted by Griffin and Rachel McElroy who discuss "Very Good Things, and the Things that Make Them Good." My personal recommendation is the episode on "Hydropunk Cowboys" in which they talk about abandoned entertainment complexes, bleak genres, and Scottish synth-pop.
- On "Ologies," Alie Ward is the relatable-ologist of ologists as she ‘"asks smart people stupid questions" from all areas of science. From spotlights on toxinology (jellyfish venom) to oikology (decluttering), there’s an episode on everything that there’s a science for.
- While "Snoozecast" is an indie podcast "designed to help you fall asleep," I find the stories read by hosts Nick Bernat and Victoria Lockard to be calming at all times. You can start with a stand-alone story on "The Enchanted Castle" or dive into a series like "The Snow Queen."

LOOKING FORWARD BY LOOKING INSIDE
- "Unlocking Us by Brené Brown" is a podcast hosted by speaker and professor Brené Brown, who studies and converses on shame and vulnerability. This show is a "real, unpolished, honest" investigation of "what it means to be human." Check out the episode with "Untamed" author Glennon Doyle on what keeps us from "embracing our wild, brave hearts."
- Host Jonathan Goldstein acts as a "therapist with a time machine" on "Heavyweight." The podcast features stories of people looking back to a moment in the past, wishing they had acted differently. One of my favorite episodes features two women "seeking the comfort of childhood," as they search out their first-grade teachers.
- "On Being with Krista Tippett" explores "the immensity of our lives," through conversations on "science, social healing, and arts." In the episode "Drew Lanham — 'I Worship Every Bird that I See'", ornithologist Drew Lanham shares his way of "being present to the world and to life in our time."
