The United States is still No. 1 in cyber capabilities, according to a report. The International Institute for Strategic Studies, a British think tank, issued the report on the cyber capabilities of 15 of the world’s biggest players in hacking and digital defense.
- The report assesses the capabilities of both the government and private sector.
- The U.S. stands alone in the first tier while China, Russia, UK, France, Canada, Israel, and Australia represent the second tier.
- The report said China is the only country from the second tier that is on pace to join the U.S. as a global cyber power due to its rapidly growing digital presence and an increasing number of large technology companies.
