Disney+ and Lucasfilm released the first full trailer for the second season of "The Mandalorian." The new episodes will continue the first season storyline, with the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) searching for the home planet of The Child (aka Baby Yoda) while evading new villain Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).

ViacomCBS will rebrand the CBS All Access streaming platform as Paramount+ in early 2021. The new name has been rumored for weeks but was confirmed by the company on Tuesday.

RE:ZERO - STARTING LIFE IN ANOTHER WORLD: The Crunchyroll anime series -- based on the light novels by Tappei Nagatsuki and Shinichirou Otsuk -- is back for a second season. The story concerns a shy, withdrawn young man who finds himself transported to a fantasy world on his way home from a convenience store. [HBO Max]

According to Comcast chairman and CEO Brian Roberts, the Peacock streaming service has hit 15 million sign-ups. The service hopes to attract 30-35 million active monthly users by 2024.

• Roberts added that, in homes that are subscribed to Comcast's broadband service, Peacock is the #2 most popular app, behind only Netflix.
• Comcast Cable will apparently add 500,000 broadband customers in the third quarter of 2020, setting a new record for the company.
• Roberts made the comments at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia virtual conference on Tuesday.

In 1968, for one week, Johnny Carson turned hosting duties on "The Tonight Show" over to singer, activist, and actor Harry Belafonte, who did a week of politically-minded shows with diverse panels. Guests included Dr. Martin Luther King, Aretha Franklin, Sidney Poitier, Lena Horne, and Robert Kennedy. Most of the interview subjects featured in "Sit-In" -- which include Belafonte himself, along with various contemporary writers, thinkers, and entertainers -- agree that this was a bold choice for Carson and his network at the time, and this week of shows had a significant influence on the future of political satire in late night.

NBCUniversal's new documentary on the subject reinforces this point many times over. In fact, it's clearly a challenge for director Yoruba Richen and her team to get this movie to feature-length. Sadly, only two full episodes of Belafonte's "Tonight Show" have survived to the present day, largely owing to NBC's tendency to copy over used tape with new episodes. (The idea of archiving and preserving late-night talk shows for posterity apparently hadn't occurred to anyone in 30 Rock by '68.) So Richen relies on the footage she can from those two nights (which helpfully include both King and Kennedy's appearance), and then fills in the rest of the story as best she can.

HBO renewed "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" for three more seasons. The show is currently in its seventh season, and recently aired its 200th episode.

Peacock released trailers for new late night shows from Larry Wilmore and Amber Ruffin. "Wilmore" debuts this Friday, September 18, while "The Amber Ruffin Show" will drop the following week, on the 25th.

Netflix ordered an animated series based on the classic 1970s Norman Lear sitcom "Good Times." The show will be Lear's first animated TV project, and will unite him with producers Steph Curry and Seth MacFarlane.

According to research firm YipitData, social media backlash against the French coming-of-age film "Cuties" may have led to a surge in Netflix cancellations. The company claims that Netflix churn rates began to rise on September 10, the same day that #CancelNetflix trended on Twitter in the U.S.
