Hailee Steinfeld will portray Marvel fan-favorite character Kate Bishop in the upcoming Disney+ "Hawkeye" series. Rumors of Steinfeld's involvement were confirmed when several outlets spotted her shooting on location in New York in costume.

• Bishop's inclusion in the "Hawkeye" series was first discussed at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.
• In Marvel Comics, Bishop is the third person -- and the first woman -- to take on the Hawkeye mantle, following Clint Barton and Wyatt McDonald.
• There are also indications that Barton and Bishop's dog Lucky, also known as Lucky the Pizza Dog, will appear in the series.
• Steinfeld also stars in the Apple TV+ comedy-drama series "Dickinson" and provided the voice of Gwen Stacy in the film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse."

According to Deadline, the Elisabeth Moss limited series "Candy" will stream on Hulu. The project comes from Universal Content Productions (UCP), a joint venture between Universal Studio Group and 20th Television.

VIKINGS: The final 10 episodes of the History period drama series -- inspired by the legends of Viking hero Ragnar Lodbrok -- will stream first on Amazon Prime beginning on December 30. [Amazon]

CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA: The horror drama's final eight episodes find a group of ancient, world-destroying entities known as The Eldritch Terrors descending on the town of Greendale. The series returns on December 31. [Netflix]

CALL ME KAT: "Big Bang Theory" star Mayim Bialik returns in this Fox sitcom, starring as a woman named Kat who leaves her dead-end job to open a cat cafe. Swoosie Kurtz, Cheyenne Jackson, and Kyle Pratt co-star. The series will debut on Fox on January 3. [Fox/Hulu]

THE DIG: Carey Mulligan, Ralph Fiennes, and Lily James star in this period drama -- based on a 2007 novel by John Preston -- about a wealthy widow and an amateur archaeologist who make a significant historical find on the grounds of her estate. "The Good Wife" veteran Julianna Margulies will join the cast of Apple's "The Morning Show" for its second season. Margulies will play UBA news anchor Laura Peterson.

HBO Max picked up the U.S. SVOD streaming rights to all nine seasons of the Warner Bros. TV family comedy series "The Middle." The series -- which aired on ABC from 2009 to 2018 -- follows the daily struggles of a middle-class Indiana family and stars Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn.
