Netflix reported its fourth-quarter earnings on Tuesday, announcing that the company was close to becoming free cash flow positive and had surpassed 200 million paid subscribers. Following the release, Netflix stock rose around 12% in after-hours trading.

Media company Cinedigm acquired the Fandor streaming service and plans to significantly expand the platform. Fandor will add a free, ad-supported subscription tier and integrate 7,000 additional titles from the Cinedigm library.

Netflix picked up a series adaptation of the YA graphic novel "Heartstopper" by Alice Oseman. "Doctor Who" and "Sherlock" vet Euros Lyn will direct the 8-part series, which comes from "Top of the Lake" producers See-Saw Films.

According to Tubi, the ad-supported streaming service was viewed for 2.5 billion hours in 2020, a 58% increase over 2019. The service first launched in April of 2014 and was acquired last year by Fox Corp. for $440 million.
