3. President Trump and Vice President Pence made a surprise visit in the Rose Garden on Monday to introduce reporters to Conan, the dog that had played an instrumental role in killing Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Conan is a tough cookie, and nobody’s going to mess with Conan,” the president noted. Before Conan's name was revealed to the press, Trump told reporters that "a beautiful dog" had chased Baghdadi into a dead-end tunnel during the operation in Syria last month. — WASHINGTON POST
