Nexus Studios has released Hotstepper, an AR navigation app. The app uses AR, geo-location and mapping technology, and the phone’s compass and GPS coordinates to guide users toward their destination with an odd dancing character. To make the character look realistic in the environment, the app calculates where the sun is in relation to HotStepper so that his shadow fits with the current location and time. Hotstepper was created using VLO, a virtual reality animation tool to be released soon by the developer. The app is available now on iOS and an Android version is in the works. — NEXT REALITY
