Starting in December, people can opt in to test Oculus Dash and the new Rift Core 2.0 user interface. The company first introduced the technology at its Oculus Connect 4 event last month. The beta test will also allow users to try out the updated desktop app and Oculus Home. Dash is an interface that lets users access other functions while using VR, including tasks, notifications, and friends lists, using Touch controllers and multiple windows. The update to Home enables users to create a custom 3D space where friends can visit and you can launch apps. — VENTUREBEAT

The inaugural Vive Arts VR experience The Ochre Atelier has opened at London's Tate Modern gallery. The experience is a part of the museum's new exhibition celebrating Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani. The Ochre Atelier is Vive's first installation in its Vive Arts initiative and is a six- to seven-minute long virtual tour of Modigliani's last studio space in Paris. The recreation of the studio is historically accurate, using 3D renderings of the actual space and some of the artist's last works. A more comprehensive experience for people who can't visit the museum is coming to Viveport soon. — ENGADGET

Oculus Go developer kits have shipped. The Oculus Go was the biggest announcement at last month's Oculus Connect 4 event: a standalone VR headset for $199. The device is said to have next generation lenses, integrated spatial audio, and a "three degrees of freedom" controller that works with Gear VR software. The Oculus Go is expected to be available to consumers in 2018, but developers have early access to start creating and testing content. — VRSCOUT
