Inside VR & AR (Aug 9th, 2018)

1. VR intelligence has released a new industry survey that shows “overwhelmingly positive feedback” about the VR market. Roughly 600 individuals were surveyed, according to VRFocus—83 percent of VR and 69 percent of AR enterprise end-users see benefits, while 86 percent plan to invest more. “Consumer uptake is yet to fully take off and the results highlight some of the areas needed to improve, in order for it to do so,” said VR Intelligence’s Rich Goddard. “But the overwhelmingly positive feedback from enterprise is encouraging for everyone and shows strong signs of immersive tech beginning to truly fulfill its potential.” — VRFOCUS

6. StarVR is teasing a new high-end VR headset to be revealed at next week’s SIGGRAPH 2018. According to Road to VR, StarVR’s headsets are designed for use in VR arcades and attractions, and boast an “ultra wide field of view and high resolution which is achieved thanks to a pair of widescreen displays.” Whether it's an update or all new hardware, it should be an exciting announcement since it's rarified air in high-end headset market. — ROAD TO VR

7. 360 video from Denver Center for Performing Arts: "Watch the 'On Your Feet' Curtain Call in Denver"

"In this exclusive 360 video, you can watch the curtain call at the opening performance of 'On Your Feet' in the national touring production's Denver stop of Aug. 8, 2018. A 360 video is a new way of watching video: Use the arrows in the top left corner of the screen to shift your perspective left, right, up, down and all around. See the performers on the stage, or use the arrows to see the audience's reactions. 'On Your Feet' tells the story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan from their humble beginnings in Cuba to become a crossover sensation at the very top of the pop music world. But just when they thought they had it all, they almost lost everything. 'On Your Feet' performs in Denver through Aug. 19. For information, call 303-893-4100 or go to denvercenter.org. Video shot by Emily Lozow and produced by David Lenk for the Denver Center." - YOUTUBE
