1. CBS will incorporate augmented reality features in its coverage of Super Bowl LIII, the network recently announced. According to a press release, CBS will use four cameras with “live augmented reality graphics,” in addition to scores of other cameras. VR Scout predicts CBS will offer player stats and other visual aids with its incorporated AR tech. Add this to The Weather Channel’s ongoing use of AR in its reports, and you’ve got more and more opportunities for folks to get comfortable with the futuristic-but-very-present concept. — VRSCOUT

2. VR Coaster and Holodeck VR look to update the classic bumper cars concept with VR. The “Steampunk VR Scooter” experience will be based at Erlebnispark Schloss Thurn near Nuremberg, DE, and features a steampunk aesthetic for its stages and vehicles. It’s unclear if the bumper cars remain stationary, but regardless, I’m sure this won’t be the last time we see “VR bumper cars” at LBE centers. — VRFOCUS

3. The gamification trend shows no signs of slowing down, particularly in developing tech like VR and AR, so the only question now is: will these powerful techniques be used for good or ill?VENTUREBEAT

“We’ll definitely see a gold rush in this direction, but at the end of the day, advertisers should consider what’s best for the customer. Will they embrace the new powers of AR and the IoT to to implement higher White Hat ideals and build a world that is based on creativity, problem solving, and storytelling? Or will they resort to means that manipulate our lower instincts in order to make a quick buck?”

9. I've had this thought, too—If it doesn't already exist, it surely will...

"Hypothesis: Building a marketplace that would allow #AR #VR creators to sell customized content to enterprises without having to build a complete app, game, or experience would fill an important space in the B2B landscape for #spatial computing. Agree? Disagree? Already made it?" - @Namenode5
