Under the name “Dread Pirate Roberts,” Ross Ulbricht once managed to build up the darknet’s most elaborate and sophisticated criminal marketplace. In 2013, after an extensive investigation, the 29-year-old was arrested in the San Francisco Public Library.

In the period leading up to Ulbricht's arrest, a number of agents throughout the country were working on the case. Two of those cops, both members of the same Baltimore-based task force, were dirty. This is the story of how they got caught.
